How to keep the enamel on your cast iron cookware clean.
Quick tips for cooking in enameled cast iron.
1. Use enamel cookware on any hob or oven. Enameled cast iron cookware can be used on all kitchen hobs and is oven safe up to 260°C.
2. Always lift the cookware. To avoid scratching your ceramic or glass hobs, never drag the enamelled cookware, always lift it.
3 . Use cooking oil or spray. For a better cooking experience and easier cleanup, use cooking oil or spray.
4. Use over low to medium heat. For best results, add water or oil when heating the pan.
How to clean your enameled cast iron cookware.
1. Let the dish cool.
2. Although your enameled cast iron cookware is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon brush is recommended to preserve the cookware's original appearance. Citrus juices (acidic) and citrus-based cleaners (including some dishwasher detergents) should not be used as they can fade the exterior gloss. It is not harmful and does not affect the cooking performance, however, the use of these products is not covered by our warranty.
3. If necessary, use a nylon sponge or scrapers to remove food residue, metal sponges or utensils will scratch or damage the porcelain.
4 . Always dry cookware thoroughly and replace pan protectors between rim and lid before storing in a cool, dry place. Do not stack cookware.

What are Enameled Cast Iron cookware?
Lodge Enameled Cast Iron is cast iron with a smooth porcelain surface bonded to the iron. The enamel is resistant to acid and alkaline foods and can be used for marinating, cooking and cooling.
Why is my enamelware staining?
Stains are to be expected when using enamel cookware and do not affect performance.
To remove light stains:
- Follow the steps above to clean your cookware.
- Wipe with a damp cloth and Lodge Enamel Cleaner or other ceramic cleaner as directed on the bottle.
For stubborn stains:
- Follow the steps above to clean and remove light stains.
- Soak the inside of the cookware for 2-3 hours with a mixture of 3 tablespoons of bleach per tablespoon of water .
- To remove stubborn, baked-on food, boil 2 cups of water and 4 tablespoons of baking soda. Boil for a few minutes and then use a scraper to loosen the food.
The rim rusts on my enamelware. What to do;
If rust develops around the rim, the pan may have been in a wet area. Leaving pans on a draining board to dry or cleaned in the dishwasher can cause rust. Rust can also form if the rim of the utensil is not dried enough after washing.
In case of rust, we recommend cleaning with a sponge and dishwashing detergent and drying well. We recommend rubbing a small amount of cooking oil around the rim to create a seal and prevent rust from reappearing. We recommend oiling periodically to prevent rust.
How do I remove baked-on food?
To remove stubborn baked-on food, boil 2 cups of water and 4 tablespoons of baking soda. Boil for a few minutes and then use a scraper to soften the food.
